Schwarzkopf Osis Grip Mousse recall in Canada: check the lot code

More than 90,000 cans are recalled because packaging can leak under pressure and may burst. Match the 200 mL product and lot code before returning it.

Health Canada recalled specific lots of Schwarzkopf Professional Osis Grip Mousse on September 21, 2026. A packaging problem can allow the pressurized product to leak; the leakage and resulting pressure may cause the package to burst, creating a risk of injury or property damage.

What to do first

Immediately stop using a potentially affected can. Do not press the dispenser to test whether it leaks. Identify the product and lot code, then return a matched recalled product to the place of purchase for a refund, following the retailer's handling instructions.

Product description

The recall applies to Schwarzkopf Professional Osis Grip Mousse, 6.76 fl oz/200 mL, and only to the listed lots. Brand or product name alone is not sufficient: compare the lot code character by character because several codes differ by only one digit or letter.

Who may have an affected can?

Henkel reported 90,089 affected units sold in Canada from November 2023 through June 2026. The mousse may still be stored in bathrooms, salons, travel bags or household cupboards even if it has not been used recently. Health Canada recorded one Canadian incident and no reported injuries as of September 18, 2026.

Refund and contact steps

  1. Stop using the product.
  2. Photograph the product name, size and lot code without activating the dispenser.
  3. Return a matched can to the place of purchase for a refund, following the retailer's instructions.
  4. For questions, contact Henkel's English support at 1-800-234-4672 or French support at 1-800-463-3081. Health Canada's notice also lists skpcanada-support@henkel.com.
  5. Keep the refund or return confirmation.

If the can is leaking or damaged

The official consumer action is to stop use and return the product. Because the recall concerns a pressurized package, do not improvise a puncture, crushing or emptying method. Ask the retailer or Henkel how to handle a leaking or damaged can and follow local household hazardous-waste or fire-service directions when applicable. If there is an immediate danger or injury, contact local emergency services.

Reporting an incident

Consumers can report a health or safety incident involving this or another consumer product or cosmetic through Health Canada's incident-reporting service. Record what happened, when it happened, where the product was purchased, its identifying code, and photographs when safe to take them.

Jurisdiction limit

This guide describes Canadian recall RA-82649 and its Canadian return-and-refund instruction. It does not establish a US recall or US refund entitlement. US owners of an apparently matching product should stop using it while checking and consult the responsible US regulator and Henkel through independently verified contact information.
